International opportunities convince Italian graduate /Local/ZA/Students/Global-Career-images-20150626_134904.jpg Marco Notarnicola was attracted to ASSA ABLOY by its international environment. Four years on, he supports the sales team and has regular customer contact as a product and business development manager. Having completed his master’s degree in computer science and information technology at the University of Bologna in Italy in 2011, Marco became aware of ASSA ABLOY’s graduate trainee program during the company’s hiring process. He says the program was a major factor in him joining the company. “The HR manager told me about the graduate program ASSA ABLOY offers to young employees to start developing their own careers inside the company,” he says. “This gave me the opportunity to work abroad, meet new people, share experiences, and the unique chance to improve my skills and develop my own career.” In his position as product and business development manager for electronic access control products in Italy, Marco is now responsible for the product range in ASSA ABLOY’s electronic access control products portfolio. “I also support the sales team to generate new business opportunities and improve our market position,” he says. “I like this role because it’s very broad; I can work on both the technical and sales sides of the business, and I enjoy having direct contact with customers.” Marco says he would like to continue working in the access control business, improving his skills in sales and marketing, as well as in product management. “To achieve that, I think having international work experience at one of the ASSA ABLOY companies in Europe would be a great opportunity for me to further develop my career in the future,” he says.
